In support of our rapid and continued growth, we are currently seeking a Financial Controller to join our team and take responsibility for the financial management of the high-growth Nomios businesses in the UK, which represent c.70M€ of revenues, with an organic top-line growth above 25% year-over-year. Your role as Financial Controller
Your role will encompass the dual responsibilities of finance manager and business controller for Nomios UK&I.
You will be involved in all elements of financial management, and will ensure the quality and integrity of financial control. Collaboratively, you will provide valuable insights and guidance to your business colleagues, in order to meet key financial and operating targets. You will need to build strong local relationships, directing and guiding internal teams and working with local company accountants as necessary.
You will contribute to innovating and enhancing our finance environment, whether through your active participation in, or recommendations for, initiatives aimed at refining processes and systems. You will also provide supervision to a Finance Analyst as part of your role.
The successful candidate will be a suitably qualified, analytical, and detail-orientated individual, with excellent communication skills. Previous experience in a similar role would be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Budgeting; budget and 5-year plan; last estimates; monthly performance analysis and management reports; monitoring of key action plans
Monitoring of key financial topics, including order intake; sales invoices; margins; vendor rebates; customer payments and overdues; SG&A costs; KPIs with respect to key strategic priorities
Oversee and help implement the local payroll, commissions and bonus process in conjunction with local MD and HR, providing the necessary support to the management team
Take a lead working with the local business operations teams in building continual improvement processes for all financial matters relevant to the local company financial affairs, including debt controls, insurance, and logistics
Ensure financial documentation is correctly and safely stored, providing financial visibility to the local MD as necessary
Involvement on key commercial contracts
Monthly closing, including checking accuracy of reports and making necessary adjustments; margin analysis; financial closing of projects; preparation of country files
Weekly invoicing checks
Annual closing and involvement in the audit work and process performed by external auditors
Interaction with local tax advisors and tax-related tasks

Additional requirements include:
Organised and professional with the ability to multi-task
Hold or be studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification (i.e., ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT)
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accountancy procedures
Experience in a similar role
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Deeply skilled in Excel with a strong interest in, and knowledge of, Power BI
Meticulous attention to detail
Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
Strong leadership and people management skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and to remain calm under pressure
Organisation Structure
The Financial Controller reports to the Group Finance Manager, with a strong dotted line to the Nomios UK&I Managing Director, for whom you will be a robust business partner. The Financial Controller will also interact frequently with the Group Chief Financial Officer.
Job Specifics
This is a hybrid role based at our UK (Basingstoke) office, including up to two days of remote work and three days in the office
Hours are full-time: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm
You will be required to travel to other Nomios offices in Europe from time to time
