An exciting position has arisen for a Head of Finance and Accounting to work for an education focused not-for-profit organisation. This is a fixed term contract to provide support and deputise for the Director of Finance in the overall provision of an effective and efficient Finance and Accounting function to the organisation.
Key responsibilities of the role:
Manage all day-to-day finance and accounting tasks, ensuring that current legislation and internal controls and procedures are always observed
Prepare, develop and analyse financial accounting information, financial statements, regulatory reporting and financial controls
Monitor cash flow forecasts and the budget against actuals and report variations in budget
Support with the preparation of the annual reports and financial statements
Support with the implementation of the new finance system (Access Financial)
Build effective and supportive relationships with funding partners
Provide support on all aspects of Finance, Governance, Legal and Secretarial activities across the organisation
Successful candidate profile:
Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA)
5+ years of experience working for Charities or Not-For-Profit organisations
Strong experience in account management, financial accounting, budget management and reporting
A broad base of experience in month-end and year-end accounting
Good and general understanding of Charities SORP (FRS 102)
Experience using Access Financial and other Accounting and Financial systems
