IT Support Engineer

Our client is currently looking to employ an IT Support Engineer on a permanent basis. As an IT Support Engineer you should have a good knowledge of networking and Windows OS. You should have the ability to install from scratch, diagnose common problems, patch, and maintain.

The role will be based mainly in their St Leonards on sea office, with some duties at their site near Birmingham when remote support is not available. Some work such as server patching , network infrastructure changes will be required to be worked on out of hours.

About the role

• Be able to communicate effectively and assist staff with any IT issues in a timely manner across all sites
• From time to time varied projects are undertaken that require the specification , procurement and build of servers, VoIP, and other IT equipment
• Document any network changes and ensure any IT system meets the normal cybersecurity standards

About you

• A good understanding of TCP/IP / Switching / DHCP /DNS / VLAN / VPN / Firewall MYSQL / SQL VOIP / SIP Technology (3CX) and able to deal with 3rd party suppliers
• An understand of SSL Certs / Domains / Webhosting Hyper-V Virtualisation Network Cabling / Termination / Testing (CAT5/CAT6) including knowledge of fibre / SFP
• Diagnosing Hardware Faults
• Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7 & 10)
• Windows Server 2008 up to 2019 (Including Server migrations & IIS)
• RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol)
• Installation / Configuration of PC’s
• Knowledge of AD-DS (Active directory domain services)
• Understanding of Office 365/ Outlook
• Full Driving licence and own vehicle

• Holiday entitlement will start on 22 days holiday. In addition to this after being with the company for 2 full years, for each full year of service thereafter they will gain a further full day holiday, to a maximum of 25 days per annum pro rata
