Information Governance Officer – London

Information Governance Officer required for a leading client based in central London. My client is currently seeking a Information Governance Officer to come on board to tasked with protecting the client’s interests as it expands its information applications and systems, ensuring the delivery of an Information System that effectively mitigates risks and adheres to government and legal requirements for information security.

Specifically focused on handling Information and Cyber Security Incidents reported through all incident reporting systems and coordinating with Business Partners across the client organization for essential Information Communication and Education in alignment with ISO 27001:2022, Security Policy Framework, and other relevant Information and Cyber Security standards (including the latest versions) mandated by DfT. The goal is to ensure adherence to Best Industry Practices and effective risk management.

• Proficient in effectively communicating complex Information and Cyber Security topics to non-specialist audiences
• Capable of designing and delivering training programs
• Skilled in horizon planning to anticipate and adapt to expected and unexpected changes
• Demonstrates pragmatism and political awareness when investigating incidents
• Able to foster relationships across all areas of the business, serving as an Information and Cyber Security Ambassador

Knowledge:

• Proficient in conducting training needs analysis and developing fit-for-purpose training materials
• Familiarity with Information Management systems across the client
• Experienced in incident investigation, reporting, and response throughout the business
• Capable of providing support for Cyber Security audits, both internal and external
• Well-versed in Data Protection regulations and the requirements of Information and Cyber Security
• Knowledgeable about evaluating organizational changes and advising on specialized training needs
• Experience with ISO 27001, HMG Information Security Policy Framework, and associated controls

Type of Experience:

• Demonstrates excellent presentation skills
• Experienced in teaching and facilitating learning
• Familiar with Data Protection regulations and Information and Cyber Security requirements
• Capable of evaluating organizational changes and providing advice on specialized training needs
• Experienced with ISO 27001 and HMG Information Security Policy Framework and their supporting controls
