This opportunity will allow thoseinvolved to have first-hand exposure to the latest technologies viathe research and development that we are undertaking to secure ourtelecommunications networks, in order to keep the UK the safestplace to live and do business online.
As a trusted and independent nationalcapability, the UKTL will interact at the intersection of standardsbodies, such as 3GPP, the National Cyber Security Centre and thewider UK intelligence community, academia, Ofcom, as well asCommunications Service Providers and telecommunication equipmentvendors.
Your contributionswill directly impact the security of telecommunications networks ona national and international scale. As part of this role, you willbe immersed in cutting-edge research and development efforts aimedat safeguarding the digital landscape, ensuring the UK remains aglobal leader in online safety and commerce.
KeyResponsibilities:
Enhancing Test SuiteCapabilities: Contribute to the development andenhancement of the UKTL’s interoperability test suite, ensuring itremains at the forefront of technologicaladvancements.
Conducting RigorousTesting : Execute thorough and consistentinteroperability tests, meticulously documenting and analysingresults to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas forimprovement.
EffectiveCommunication : Articulate andjustify the implications of test findings to both internal andexternal stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making andproactive responses to emerging threats.
Test StrategyDevelopment : Collaborate in thedesign and refinement of test cases, comprehensively outliningtheir scope, limitations, and impact, and preparing detailed testspecification documents aligned with overarching testingstrategies.
Quality AssuranceCoordination : Maintain meticulousrecords to support quality assurance processes, coordinating testschedules with the broader UKTL team to ensure seamless executionof testing protocols.
StakeholderEngagement : Engage with adiverse array of stakeholders, including standards bodies,governmental agencies, academia, and industry partners, to ensurethe meaningfulness and comprehensiveness of interoperabilitytesting efforts and gather valuable insights into equipmentconfigurations
