My client is a specialist provider of cyber security services with particular expertise in vulnerability management. A multi award winning business they aim to simplify their client cyber security needs and focus on what s important, getting the basics right.

About the role

The successful Security Engineer to aid in scanning customers for the latest critical vulnerabilities, developing new vulnerability checks, and automating the penetration testing process at scale

Key Responsibilities

• Developing new vulnerability detections with Nuclei and curating crowd-sourced checks for inclusion in the platform
• Conducting custom scans of customer targets for emerging critical weaknesses (Rapid Response)
• Creating technical content for the website about the latest vulnerabilities
• Automating penetration testing methods to carry out checks at scale for multiple customers simultaneously
• Working on projects to research and provide evidence for novel improvements to the platform
• Providing technical assistance on client calls and occasionally helping at events

Skills & Experience

• 2+ years in a pentester or other offensive security role
• Pentester certification (see job ad for list)
• Evidence on CV of coding/automation skills (e.g., linked projects with scripts, programs, custom code)
• Proven knowledge of offensive security (e.g., HackTheBox profile, Bug Bounty successes, working towards pentester certifications, written tools for vulnerability discovery)
• 2+ years in offensive security roles
• Technical academic background in software engineering or cybersecurity
• One or more industry certifications (e.g., OSCP, OSWE, OSEP, CRT, CCT APP, CCT INF)
• Experience in network/web application penetration testing, task automation (Python, Ruby, Golang), developing/extending detection and fingerprinting code, developing/extending exploits, and cloud services
• Strong client-facing skills and excellent technical writing skills
