Led bythe Department for Science, Innovation andTechnology, the UK Telecoms Lab(UKTL), announced in October2022, will give the UK the cutting-edge technology to keep ourtelecommunications networks safe, accelerate the roll-out of 5G,andgrow our brilliant telecoms sector by bringing in new entrants todiversify the supply chain market. Successfulcandidates will have a unique experience working on or supportingthe latest ground-breaking cyber security and networkingtechnologies on a national and international scale. Thisopportunity will allow those involved to have first-hand exposureto the latest technologies via there search and development that weare undertaking to secure our telecommunications networks, in orderto keep the UK the safest place to live and do businessonline.
As a trusted and independent national capability, theUKTL will interact at the intersection of standards bodies, such as3GPP, the National Cyber Security Centre and the wider UKintelligence community, academia, Ofcom,as well as CommunicationsService Providers and telecommunication equipmentvendors.
Successful Applicants must be able to commute tothe UKTL offices inBirmingham.
