Mainframe Automation Engineer (OPAMVS, REXX) – Finance – Remote

Day rate: £400 – £500 (inside IR35)

Duration: 6 – 12 months

My client is looking for a Mainframe engineer to join the Automation team remotely on a long contract.

Role:

• Provide expert Mainframe Automation and output management support
• Ability to develop and support Splunk dashboards and alerts
• Author Test Cases to validate native/new functionality.
• Represent the team at technical/business meetings/events in a professional and assertive manner.
• Communicate and collaborate with Business & Operational Teams
• Mainframe Automation Problem escalations (internal and vendor support)
• Follow ITIL Business processes, Change, Incident, Problem and Root Cause Analysis processes
• Manage Mainframe Automation tools in line with security, compliance, and policies, using standard tools, e.g. CyberArk, ServiceNow
• Potential on-call support (24x7x365) for OPSMVS, CAView and iDash issues.

Knowledge and experience with Mainframe systems

OPSMVS

CA-View & CA-Deliver

REXX

Mainframe Operations in general – JCL, ISPF, JES2, z/OS

Desirable skills

I-Dash for CA7 admin

BMC AMI Ops Automation

BMC Control-M Output Management

Splunk dashboards and alerts

SAS

Windows server knowledge

REST API knowledge

Experience of MS Office

Knowledge of basic CA7 operations

Knowledge of basic Control-M Schedule Management

Web page coding skills

File transfer basic knowledge

Knowledge of ServiceNow

ITIL Processes

Agile Concepts

Education / Experience

Graduate or Equivalent education in a computing relevant subject

At least 5 years working within a complex Mainframe environment

Mainframe System Automation software administration on Mainframe systems
