Spencer Rose are currently on the lookout for an Application Security Engineer for one of our key clients based in Bristol. Within this role, the Application Security Engineer will be imbedded within the Application Development team to further develop their software security maturity whilst maintaining the speed of product delivery throughout the development life cycle.
The Application Security Engineer will have the following responsibilities –
Provide well thought out security input on solution design, ensuring key security principles and best practice are reflected in design at both the software and platform level
Help teams interpret security requirements where required, including leveraging existing material such as OWASP
Conduct both targeted and broad security testing of components and services throughout the development life cycle.
The Application Security Engineer will have the following skills/experience –
Minimum 2+ years of experience in a hands-on Cyber Security focused role, primarily within the application security space
Experience/knowledge of the OWASP top ten
Prior knowledge and familiarity with either Java or Spring Boot, as well as React and Node (desirable)
