Location: Preston or Frimley (Hybrid) – Once per week on site – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £26,000 +

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing support to the Operational Procurement team in transacting requisitions and sourcing/managing the supplier base utilising all the sourcing tools available
• Managing debt and providing reporting for same, including regular meetings and collaborating with other departments, stakeholders, and suppliers
• Updates to the master data list of suppliers connected to the relevant purchasing platform
• Supporting IPS colleagues on Request for Quotes where required
• Administration, controlling and supporting the Corporate Purchasing Card programme for corporate spend by the business and the Source to Pay processes
• Providing support to the sponsors/stakeholders in increasing automation across the business, including engaging with businesses and category leads to provide technical solutions using the Coupa or SAP/Oracle platform and providing reports and insights to show performance against target and highlight key areas of focus
• Ensuring all procurement transactions are compliant with BAE Systems Policies and procedures and relevant government legislation

Your skills and experiences:

• Sound business/commercial acumen
• Have knowledge of the Requisition to Order process
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• High level of computer literacy, including experience in use of full Microsoft Office package
• Some experience of Coupa, SAP, Oracle, or any other Source to Pay and/or Enterprise Resource Planning systems
• The ability to deliver within a dynamic customer-focused environment
• Ability to work independently, managing and prioritising their workload with appropriate guidance but also the ability to work alongside and deliver within a team

The Procurement Operations team:

The Procurement Operations team within our Shared Services business is a newly formed team and is responsible for executing indirect procurement transactions and purchase order placement across UK lines of business.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to directly support the business while looking for opportunities to improve on our procurement offering to become best in class. It is an exciting time to be joining our Shared Services whilst the transformation of the procurement team is taking place, we are currently establishing a new team with a view to growing the capability of the team.
