WHAT TO EXPECT

The High Voltage Charging System is key in JLR’s electrification strategy with our High Voltage Charging System Performance team responsible for the design and advanced development and selection of charging components for our electrification programmes. We are looking to appoint a talented Charging Attributes Lead Engineer to be a key part in the development of JLR’s future vehicles programs. This is an opportunity to lead the design of multiple software and electronics hardware-based functions and be responsible for integrating these functions into JLR’s High Voltage (HV) charging systems.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Develop the requirements for specific HV Charging functions, reviewing the associated Failure Mode Avoidance material, functional safety deliverables, cyber security deliverables and testing of each function to ensure suitability for production.
• Develop a thorough understanding of how charging infrastructure, customer charging needs and JLRs competitors charging systems will change over time. You will then use this data to develop a plan showing how JLR should develop its charging targets and decide in which areas to concentrate effort.
• Develop detailed understanding of High Voltage Charging Systems and its operation is needed in order to help design, review and refine JLRs future High Voltage Charging Systems for their intended applications, ensuring their robustness and minimising cost.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Significant knowledge & practical experience of High Voltage Electronic Charging systems
• Significant knowledge & practical experience of the software development processes.
• Project management, Leadership and planning skills are essential, along with good teamwork and communication skills. Strategic thinking is also essential.
• Significant experience of Design and research, Quality processes including 8D, FMA process as well as requirements and standards writing.
