Cyber Security – Test & Support Engineer

– Linux, Bash, Networking (TCP/IP, C/C++, Python, Jenkins

– The role is office based, on-site in Guilford, Surrey with occasional travel to customer sites across London and the South. Travel will be limited to 2 or 3 times per month.

We have a great new opportunity to work with an award-winning tech consultancy delivering world-class cybersecurity projects within the defence sector.

The role will best suit a candidate from a strong academic background in maths and computing and a high level of technical aptitude. The environment will provide a great platform for learning and development with exposure to complex problem solving across cyber and network security and the automated testing of cybersecurity products and software.

The position reports directly to the Head of Engineering and provides a key support role to the software engineering team. Working alongside some very talented engineers your role will be to support customers using 3 cyber products. Work is varied and challenging, using your problem solving and technical skills across networking, security and software.

Summary of skills and expectations:

• A good academic record with A-Levels in maths and physics and a university degree in computer science, engineering, physics, or maths.
• Familiarity with Linux, Bash, networking (TCP/IP), C/C++, and Python.
• Experience of developing and maintaining automated software test suites (eg. Jenkins)
• Positive, confident team player and problem solver who is keen to work with others.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Confident liaising directly with customers, managing support queries to resolution
• Willing to travel to UK based customer sites to provide on-site support.
• Full clean UK driving license.
