About the Role:
As our Cybersecurity Engineer, you’ll play a central role in fortifying our information security program. You will construct, manage, and monitor defenses to safeguard our systems, networks, and data against the evolving landscape of cyber threats.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Collaboration: Engage with engineering teams to implement and advance security practices.
Risk Mitigation: Conduct penetration tests and risk assessments, prioritising threats and designing mitigation strategies.
Security Infrastructure: Work with internal teams and external partners to develop policies, processes, and technical solutions addressing security gaps.
Architectural Safeguards: Contribute to designing a secure connected architecture protecting our critical infrastructure.
Secure Development Support: Assist engineering teams in building secure systems, auditing code for vulnerabilities.
Security Initiatives: Lead security engineering initiatives, acting as a point of contact and knowledge hub.
Vulnerability Management: Assess vulnerabilities, implement mitigation strategies, and automate security best practices.
Incident Response: Lead incident response efforts to contain and recover from security breaches.
Continuous Learning: Research new attack vectors, develop threat models, and upgrade security solutions.
Security Audits: Perform security control audits and collaborate with other teams to implement outcomes.
Who You Are:
Proficient in AWS or similar cloud providers
Fluent in vulnerability management tools, from code scanners to IaC and Cloud fabric.
Expertise in cryptography and understanding of exploits to anticipate and counter threats.
Keen eye for detail, sharp analytical mind, and adept at untangling complex security challenges.
Understanding of secure architecture principles and ability to translate them into practical solutions.
Proficient in conducting penetration testing and understanding its role in identifying and remediating vulnerabilities.
Competent in software development, capable of auditing code and features for security weaknesses.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related fields, or exceptional skills in related domains.
Practical software engineering experience, comfortable operating at a code level.
Proven experience in Cybersecurity.
Bonus but not essential:
Knowledge of security frameworks (eg, NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
