The Company

Principal Medical Ltd (PML) was founded in 2004, as a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation, by a small group of General Practitioners, with the main aim of ensuring that local NHS healthcare professionals had an opportunity to bid for, and provide, innovative primary care services, at scale, in their local area.

In the years since it was formed, the organisation has matured and grown with currently, 70% of GP practices in Oxfordshire and 22% of those in Northamptonshire, associated with the Federation. The PML GP Federation is the largest collaborative group of GPs in Oxfordshire and South Northamptonshire, covering a total population of almost 800,000 patients.

As a result of this impressive growth, PML are investing in their IT infrastructure and systems, with some exciting projects in the pipeline, focussing on maintaining, upgrading, and implementing new technologies across helpdesk, infrastructure, networks, and cyber security.

The Role

This is a newly created Digital & Technology Manager position reporting directly to the CEO of PML. You’ll have overall responsibility for delivering all PML IT services and projects, as well as leading a small team. Responsibilities will include:

• Strategic IT Management (developing & implementing strategic IT plans)
• Technology Leadership (identifying & leveraging emerging technologies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement)
• Team Leadership & Development (day-to-day management, leadership & mentorship to IT staff, as well as recruitment, training & retention)
• IT Policy & Compliance (implementing robust cyber security measures, risk management etc.)
• Project Management (leading complex IT projects, working cross-functionally)
• Supplier / Vendor Management, Disaster Recovery, User Support / Training, Reporting & Analysis

About you

Applicants for the Digital & Technology Manager role will have:

• Strong experience gained in a similar IT management / leadership position, with a proven track record of driving innovation and managing IT projects
• Deep knowledge across IT infrastructure, systems, cloud services, cyber security, and network management
• Experience managing and leading IT teams (recruitment, retention, mentorship etc.)
• Hold relevant certifications in IT and / or cyber security (e.g. CompTIA, CISMP, PMP etc.)
• A “hands-on” approach, with flexibility and willingness to provide 1st line support when necessary
• A valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle (as travel to various PML sites will be required)

On offer

Salary of up to £65,000 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits
