We have an exciting opportunity for a Director Market IT Leader in our company’s Commercial business in the UK, a leader who can provide unparalleled guidance within our Market IT Technology Partnership team and translate analytical insights into large-scale enterprise impact.

What will you do:

1. Responsible for the strategic planning of digital capabilities with primary focus on commercial capabilities in support of sales, marketing and market access. The strategic planning will have a secondary focus on the enablement and simplification of digital capabilities such as collaboration, workplace services and corporate.
2. Responsible for developing strategic and collaborative partnerships with senior leaders. Ability to become the trusted partner and advisor to all stakeholders in the market by demonstrating deep domain knowledge of the commercial business.
3. Demonstrate matrix leadership of IT resources in other IT functions responsible for ensuring that all IT functions are successful in their delivery of services to our company’s internal customers. Key matrix IT partner functions include platform architecture, User Experience, software engineering, application support & maintenance, program management, information & data management, collaboration services, infrastructure services.
4. Build, promote and develop a strong and highly engaged IT team that has the flexible skills in line with the fast-evolving business strategy. Proactively seek ways to improve team functioning, cohesiveness and effectiveness while assuring an optimal agile culture setting.
5. Drive and maintain an in-depth understanding of the external local market technology skillsets relevant to our business strategy and build (in partnership with HR) corresponding future talent engagement models.
6. Partner with local business to ensure the mapping and understanding of the external local healthcare ecosystem (including local standards as well as key data sources and data flows) and ecosystem stakeholders as an enabler for implementation of integrated healthcare and/or data insights solutions. Drive corresponding key partnerships from a technology and data angle.
7. Provide guidance to others on implementing corporate practices while tailoring them to the country/divisions (including but not limited to cybersecurity best practices).

What you need to succeed in this role:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Science or Business is required.
2. A demonstrated track record of success as a technology leader working with business leadership teams in pharmaceutical or other technology advanced industry with focus on driving technology and data strategy in a commercial environment. Demonstrated ability to prioritise, align and simplify.
3. The candidate should understand go-to-market and customer engagement strategies, and have a working experience of Agile methodologies (Agile marketing preferred).
4. Good understanding of the role of data and analytics in current business strategy along with understanding of key enabling data & analytics technologies.
5. Knowledge/experience of technology development and deployment of innovative solutions in any business domain from conceptualisation through delivery.
6. Knowledge/experience in Software Development Life Cycles.
7. The candidate must possess exceptionally well-developed interpersonal skills. Communication skills will be critical to this leader’s ability to interact, relationship, negotiate and effectively influence the local leaders.
8. Demonstrated people leadership skills, team building, as well as skills that emphasize collaboration in a highly matrixed organisation.
9. The ability to manage cross-divisional projects, coordinate projects and services across boundaries, and build effective cross-functional teams is essential.
10. A team player who places great emphasis on collective achievement within her/his team.
11. Ability to think cross-divisionally and work across boundaries.
12. Strong personal and professional ethical values, impeccable integrity, and the energy level required to meet the demands of the position.
