This specialist retailer is seeking a dedicated and innovative Head of IT to lead in the stability and efficiency of current IT operations systems and processes. The successful candidate will manage IT resources, ensure smooth operations and implement strategic IT initiatives within a fast-paced SME.

Our client is a well-established retailer, with just under 15+ stores across the UK. With a team of under 200 employees, they focus on providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service; with 60% of sales being physical. This company, located in Liverpool continues to expand its influence within the retail market. Within the next few years the business will have a large focus on profitability where this IT position will communicate with all teams including but not limited to HR, Ecommerce, Finance, Marketing and more to meet business objectives.

Description

• With two direct reports, the Head of IT will lead and manage the technology department and its resources.
• Develop and implement strategic IT initiatives aligned with company goals of profitability, efficiency and stability.
• Hands-on position for a senior manager who has relevant experience in IT operations who is prepared to lead on a variety of technical discussions surrounding solutions and proficiency.
• Speaking to all relevant stakeholders and ensuring smooth operations of all IT systems within the company by adapting to each stakeholder need; providing a level of anonymity and control, requiring a breath of IT knowledge around processes.
• Collaborate with various other department heads to align IT systems and operations with business objectives.
• Evaluate and implement new IT technologies to enhance efficiency by testing, designing an managing all project work.
• Oversee IT budgeting and expenditure.
• Ensure IT compliance and security within the company.
• Provide mentorship and training to the IT team and adapting to all needs that fall under the remit.

Profile

A successful Head of IT should have:

• Proven experience in a similar Head of IT role, with a track record of managing IT operations for SME sized businesses.
• Experience with Retail (highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong understanding of IT compliance and security protocols (including Cyber).
• Ability to strategise and execute IT initiatives.
• Broad IT knowledge across IT operations, data, software platforms, ERP/CRM and business awareness including but not limited to Ecommerce and PCI.
