Head of IT – Technical, Linux – CentOS, AWS, Cyber Essentials, O365 – London – 90k – Onsite

My client – Professional services – are seeking a Head of IT to join their team. This is an exciting time to join as they are going through lots of new IT Changes and are seeking someone who can help them on this journey. This a technical hands on role where you will be managing a team whilst guiding and advising on best practice to the CFO to around 250 users.

Duties include:

• Work closely with your team to deliver a comprehensive and customer focussed IT support function across all levels of the organisation, including:
  • First and second line support of hardware and software applications
  • Support of AV systems in meeting rooms, ensuring technology is maintained to high standards and routinely checked to ensure high levels of availability
  • Deployment and replacement of end-user devices
  • Administering user accounts and the joiners, movers and leavers process
• Manage relationships with (and between) external suppliers and providers, ensuring contracts and service levels are negotiated in line with strategic aims and financial constraints and ongoing service is in-line with agreed contracts. This includes infrastructure, software licencing, support and telephone contracts.
• Develop and maintain IT Disaster Recovery and Cyber Incident Response Plans. Provide input to the organisation’s Business Continuity Plan and implement measures designed to safeguard IT and needs of the organisation in the event of major incidents or disasters
• Management of the IT department budget including administration of purchase orders and supplier invoices
• Develop, maintain and enhance IT related policies
• Work closely with the Group Director of Safety, Health and Environmental/Sustainability Management, to ensure ISO 27001 processes/documentation are adhered to, maintained and developed

Looking for candidates with similar experience in the following:

• Previous exp in Managing a team and providing all levels of Support – from 1st to 3rd line, infrastructure, network and Cyber – of around 250 users
• Must have experience in Linux – Ubuntu, Centos – ideally exp in bash Scripting
• Competence in business relationship management, service strategy, service design, service transition, service operations and continuous improvement.
• Managing IT Budget, Asset management etc
• Excellent knowledge of Information Security – Cyber Essentials, including ISO 27001
• You will have excellent working knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud systems (including Microsoft 365 and Azure or AWS), server/desktop virtualisation, server operating systems and network infrastructures.
• You will possess up-to-date technical understanding across a broad range of technologies. including, Palo Alto Firewalls, VMware, MacOS, iOS, Android, Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD and 3DStudio Max.
• Ideally good hardware exp – as you will be involved in the new Desktop project
• You will be prepared to ‘roll your sleeves up’ and get ‘hands on’ when necessary showing less experienced staff how to do things and building up their expertise.
• Used to working in a past paced pressurised environment.
