Are you a caring and dedicated Health Care Assistant seeking a fulfilling opportunity to work in a lovely SEN School? We have a full-time position available starting in January, where you will have the privilege of working with PMLD children at Key Stage 5.

As an experienced Health Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support and care to these students within the SEN school setting. Your compassion and commitment will contribute to their well-being, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and support throughout their educational journey.

Responsibilities of a Health Care Assistant in this role within an SEN School include:

1. Providing personal care and support to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), including assistance with feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene.
2. Administering medication and following individual care plans, ensuring the health and well-being of students at all times.
3. Assisting with mobility and physical support, including the use of specialist equipment and aids to ensure students’ safety and comfort.
4. Supporting students with their communication and sensory needs, implementing strategies and techniques to enhance their engagement and participation in classroom activities.
5. Collaborating with the school’s multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to student care and development.
6. Monitoring and recording student progress, reporting any concerns or changes in health status to the appropriate staff members and participating in regular review meetings.
7. Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a sense of belonging and supporting students in accessing the curriculum to the best of their abilities.
8. Participating in training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in working with PMLD children.

This full-time role offers working hours between 8.45am and 3.45pm, Monday to Friday.
