Exciting Opportunity: Join the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) as an Information Security Lead!
Are you a highly skilled professional looking for a new challenge? We want you to be part of our Technology Operations Team on a 6-month fixed term contract. As the Information Security Lead, you’ll play a vital role in providing technical expertise and support to the Information Security Manager. You’ll also contribute to the delivery of our Cyber Security strategy. This is a fantastic opportunity to mentor and guide an apprentice security technician, supporting them in their tasks and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conducting risk assessments and updating security risk management, disaster recovery, and incident management plans.
• Monitoring the organisation’s networks, systems, and applications.
• Providing specialist advice and knowledge in Information Security.
• Collaborating with the IT service desk to respond, track, classify, monitor, and escalate information security incidents/events.
• Staying up to date with the latest information security trends, threats, technologies, and regulations.
• Reviewing and implementing information security policies and procedures.
• Upholding organisation Cyber Security Policies.
• Identifying security requirements for new projects and initiatives across RPS.
• Supporting the technology team in integrating IT security into systems, applications, and projects.
• Collaborating with other members of the Technology department.
• Assisting in the implementation of new software, processes, and technologies using best practices.
• Providing support, learning, and shadowing opportunities to the apprentice security technician.
Requirements:
Essential
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing information security policies and procedures.
• Strong background in conducting risk assessments and developing risk management plans.
• Knowledge of current information security trends, technologies, and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
• Project management skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are preferred.
The Team
The Technology Operations team strives to bring operational excellence to RPS, delivering best-in-class, Service, Cyber Security and Best Practice frameworks and processes.
How we are currently working
RPS supports and works in a hybrid way, which means you will be able to work from home, however, there will be an expectation for collaborative face-to-face working – on average and typically this may be something between 4-8 working days per month at our London Office.
