As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the cutting-edge technological backbone that supports our mission-critical operations. The Role:

So, what will you be doing as IT Infrastructure Engineer?

• Collaborate with team members to deliver necessary services within performance targets.
• Partner with various engineering disciplines (Systems, Test & Evaluation, Software Engineering) and non-engineering departments (program management, proposal management, operations) to achieve mission success milestones.
• Manage systems from both technical and security viewpoints.
• Assist in the build and deployment of new hardware and software solutions into the operational environment.
• Conduct technical investigations of issues reported in operational systems.
• Analyze data and generate reports to meet customer requirements.
• Provide on-call support for operational systems on a rotating weekly schedule.
• Travel occasionally to Data Centres in Wales.
• Visit the Warminster site as needed for incident management, team meetings, demonstrations, and other support activities.

What are we looking for in our next IT Infrastructure Engineer?

• Demonstrated experience in similar roles adhering to industry best practices.
• Support infrastructure management within small, specialized teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of IT systems design, development, and maintenance.
• Convert contractual requirements into infrastructure solutions that meet technical, schedule, and budgetary constraints.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Communicate and present ideas clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of IT solution lifecycle and methodologies, including Agile and ITIL.

• Apply a logical and meticulous approach to testing and problem-solving with hardware and software.
• Provide strong technical leadership in a dynamic operational setting.
• Prioritize tasks effectively to meet program requirements.
• Maintain a customer-focused attitude.
• Expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including deployment, administration, and hardening.
• Proficient with VMware vSphere products (ESXi, vCenter Administration, and Deployment).
• Experience with Oracle Database and Postgres, including RAC, ASM Grid, and upgrading/installing Oracle database infrastructure.
• Skilled in deploying, performance tuning, and monitoring the Red Hat JBOSS Application Platform.
• Knowledgeable in Storage Area Networking, including arrays and fabrics.

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with HPE Enterprise Hardware and Software Products, such as OneView, Primera, switches, and blades.
• Understanding of local and wide area networking.
• Experience with firewalls, switches, and routers.
• Proficient in Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policies, Trusts, and Federation Services.
• Successful track record in tech refresh projects
