IT Infrastructure Manager

Cedar are recruiting an IT Infrastructure Manager for a dynamic IT business based in Buckinghamshire. We are open to both permanent and interim options for this role due to it being a business critical hire. The role is office based and reports into the CFO.

The IT infrastructure manager will have joint responsibility for the effective management, organisation, strategy and design of the company’s UK and global sites.

The key responsibilities/duties are: –

• Manage and where required optimise the organisation’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cyber security
• Oversee the daily IT operations, ensuring the effective management of IT projects, systems, and support / helpdesk issues.
• In collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer, develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies that align with the organisation’s goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and when required develop solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Establish and enforce infrastructure policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure system reliability, security, and performance.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met.
• Monitor and analyse the performance of the IT infrastructure where possible, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary upgrades or enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and security standards, implementing necessary measures to protect the organisation’s data and IT assets.
• Prepare and manage the budget for IT infrastructure including forecasting future infrastructure needs and costs.

Technical information (ideal stack)

• Microsoft 365 and WSUS server architecture
• Day-to-day IT support / Helpdesk
• Support with key staff software when required: Jet, PowerBi, legacy IBM notes
• Cyber security set up: including Cisco Duo MFA, Crowd Strike, Penetration Testing, Wazuh SIEM, Cybersecurity training
• VEEAM backup for servers, Microsoft 365 mailboxes, OneDrive and SharePoint
• 8. 8 8 soft phone system

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years experience in a similar function with a strong understanding of server management, networking and cloud technologies. The candidate should also have some experience with storage solutions and network architecture and be familiar with cyber security and data protection regs. Lastly, the successful candidate was demonstrate excellent communication skills as a large percentage of the role will be collaborating with the leadership team.
