IT Manager

This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to join York Minster as their new Head of IT.

You will be joining a truly world-renowned site as the lead for all things IT to help and develop their internal systems and team of technical specialists.

The role is based in the heart of York with hybrid / flexible and agile working on offer.

Accountabilities

IT and Communications Management?

• Ensure alignment of IT & comms strategies/initiatives with the strategic objectives.?
• Lead the day-to-day management of IT to ensure effective and efficient operation of all Cathedral business, providing timely and responsive End User hardware/software and query support.?
• Provide technical lead oversight and support to the IT Support Engineer team
• Ensure secure and cost-efficient management of YM IT, communications, and data – within budget.?
• Implement, embed, and continuously improve the utilisation of tools and systems that enhance cross-departmental efficiency and collaboration.?
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, exploring and implementing innovative solutions where appropriate to support the delivery of strategic objectives, such as digital transformation opportunities.?
• Establish appropriate processes and plans for managing upgrades/releases.?
• Cohere and coordinate change requests from the business, especially those related to new requirements or software configuration. Advise and guide on all YM IT/Comms related matters, ensuring alignment to IT & Comms Strategy & Plan.?
• Develop a rolling plan and approach that is adequately resourced from both technical and business implementation perspectives to support requirements on the team from an infrastructure, hardware, software, data and end-user support perspective.?
• Ensure appropriate KPIs/SLAs are developed to report on performance, manage expectations and meet the requirements of the YM organization, such as uptime and availability of core systems.?
• Safeguard YM’s digital assets, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data, and mitigating cybersecurity risks.?
• Lead on all IT project management, including planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT & comms projects.?
• Ensure appropriate business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place and understood by relevant teams.?

Risk Management:?

• Implement effective risk management and mitigation processes across IT and communications, keeping the CFO informed of key risks and mitigation plans.?

Compliance, Regulatory, and Legal:?

• Ensure that all IT management, reporting, and activities comply with relevant legal regulations and requirements.?
• Contribute to the review and continuous development of IT policies and associated processes and procedures.?
• Support the Data Protection Officer in the development and implementation of robust data protection policies, practices, and technologies.?
