IT Manager – Wrexham – 45.000 to 48,000

Principal IT are working with a Manufacturing Company based in Wrexham that are looking for an IT Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Our client has been around for over 100 years, during this time they pride themselves on inventing one of a kind products for the benefit of society and businesses around the world.

To be successful in this role they are looking for someone who can hit the ground running in a challenging environment which consists of implementing IT strategies, policies, and procedures to support the organisation’s goals and objectives. Whilst also having experience of playing a key role in Systems Change Management Processes.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure network components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features
• Analyse processes and technologies continually to find areas for improvement
• Prepare cost-benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary, and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best-possible service and value for business needs
• Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups
• Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, and other support as required
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and Network Infrastructure
• Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data through the implementation of cybersecurity measures, policies, and practices that support GDPR
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide solutions and support to meet business requirements
• Manage IT projects from start to finish whilst providing the relevant people with updates throughout.
• Oversee vendor relationships and contracts, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure service level agreements are met
• Disaster Recovery and business continuity plans to minimise downtime and mitigate against risks

Desirable Skills:

• 4 to 5 years of experience in IT management
• Certification in PRINCE2, ‘Agile’ project management, PMP or APM would be advantageous
• Strong technical background in systems administration, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT operations
• Experience with ITIL, or other IT service management frameworks is a plus

• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualisation technologies
• Strong sense of prioritisation and execution against critical deliverables, coupled with a sense of personal ownership for key account deliverables.
• Strong analytical skills and able to interpret information from numerous sources to prepare and present reports.
• A passion for Service Improvement
• Being accountable for the customer – working internally with other teams to actively deliver a high level of service.
• Manage any incidents that trigger Major Incident Management process
