IT System Engineer / Network Administrator Full Time

We are currently recruiting for an expanding company based in Altham who are looking for an IT System Engineer / Network Administrator to join their busy IT department. The vacancy is being recruited on a Long term temporary contract.

JOB SUMMARY
Provides on-site IT support and participates in projects to deliver reliable, efficient, and secure IT environments to users. This includes end user desktop/laptop computer support, telecommunications (VoIP), LAN support, cell phones, and tier 1 and 2 technology infrastructure support. This position is one of a team of IT team subject matter experts working with local users in support of a global technology environment with defined standards and practices. Accomplishing this involves identifying, implementing, and supporting onsite technology infrastructure, break/fix activities to user s IT Requests and adhering and adhering to the global technology roadmap standards. This person must be able to support local File/Print, LAN support, work with corporate IT on supporting local Domain Controllers and File/Print Services that are part of a global managed technology environment. Travel between sites in a multisite region is required and occasional after-hours support and being on-call is required.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following:

• Handle project and support requests with occasional direction, conducts root cause and root cause resolution analysis to prevent repeat IT issues from negatively impacting business practices.
• Participate on location specific IT projects to ensure successful transition and necessary tech refresh of production IT technology supports business needs.
• Provides input as a member of the global IT group into business needs related to technology standards. Create, maintain, and support local hardware and software to the company technology roadmap and standards. Install operating systems, software patches, and cyber security software as directed by corporate IT function. Troubleshoot, respond, and diagnose technology errors and/or alerts with focus on implementing proactive technology monitoring, actions, and response to increase system availability in support of business activities.
• Support local VoIP PBX, phone handsets, and smart phone solutions. Monitor cell phone needs by working with local carriers on data usage and apply appropriate plan for international and domestic users.
• Provide customer service for IT services for regional computers, telephony, printers, network, and any other IT related technology.
• Provide desktop, laptop, tablet, and other related computer Support, which could include computer repair, wiring, software installations/updates, etc Verify and deploy computers and other technology adhering to global IT technology roadmap/standards.

• Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:

• Bachelor s degree preferred in Computer Science, MIS, BCS or at least 4 years relevant experience.
• A plus in having IT certifications such as: Microsoft, Networking

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

• Work schedule generally consists of 40 hours per week, which will include afterhours support and being on-call as needed and weekends.
• Able to lift computer equipment, monitors, and servers.
