Junior IT Security Analyst

Our client, a leading banking organisation based in Birmingham, is looking for a Junior IT Security Analyst on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for an IT Service Desk/1st Line Support Analyst with around 3 years’ experience with a genuine interest in IT Security.

The purpose of the role is to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the Bank’s network and information systems by supporting the delivery of Cyber Security Strategy and the performance of IT security-related operations. You’ll detect breaches in network security for escalation, monitor threat intelligence, perform vulnerability management tasks, undertake access reviews and support with related investigations.

Knowledge/Experience

• Knowledge of key cybersecurity principles, best practices, and industry standards.
• Logical and creative thinking skills
• Fault finding/trouble shooting ability
• Great time management skills, as you’ll need to work flexibly and under pressure
• Strong communication skills to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and to know when to seek guidance
• Understands IT network features and functions

Experience

• 3 years of experience in an IT Service Desk role or similar
• Experience working with infrastructure and technology, including understanding of security operations
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure environment and Hybrid infrastructure would be beneficial
• Understanding of identity protection/access management
• Technical ability in networking systems
• Experience of IT Security tooling including SIEM platforms would be beneficial
