Copello has partnered with a leading defence organisation to recruit a Lead Buyer based in Hertfordshire.

As a Lead Buyer, the successful candidate will join the Information Management procurement team, overseeing all IT and software expenditure across the Group. This includes Enterprise Software, SaaS, Software Services, Engineering & Manufacturing Software, Networks, Telecoms, Hardware, Printing, Cyber Security, and outsourced Front and Back Office Services. The team is cross-functional, providing the opportunity to specialise in one area or expand expertise across various domains.

Candidates with skills in any of these areas, or those looking to develop their knowledge in new IM procurement fields, are encouraged to apply.

The Lead Buyer will collaborate with internal customers to lead procurement competitions in the UK and at Group level. They will develop the procurement pipeline with Group Category Managers, foster strong relationships with partners and suppliers, and deliver optimal procurement outcomes for the business. This role offers the chance to manage and build competitions both in the UK and on an international scale.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of any aspect of IT or software procurement, or be eager to learn and develop these skills. Ideally, they will hold or be working towards an MCIPS qualification.
