The solutions you deliver will enable people to rebuild their finances, secure breathing space from their creditors, obtain redundancy payments and hold fraudulent directors to account, so you will transform thousands of lives every year.

What’s the role about?

We’re looking for a Lead .NET Developer to join our busy, multidisciplinary team in Digital Services, Insolvency Service. Digital Services are responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting the agency’s line of business applications.

Digital Services is a predominantly an in-house team, with a small 3rd party DevSecOps function. We’ve recently moved away from a hybrid development and support partnership, with the aim of bringing the function in-house. We’d love to for you to be part of that new team.

We provide key services including:

• Service Governance
• Business Relationship Management
• Service Architecture
• Digital Services
• Cyber Security and Information Governance
• Digital Programme Delivery

What will you do?

• Lead our Developers in one of our agile teams, acting as a mentor, coach as well as being one of our Principal Developers
• Be able to guide the way that the other developers in the team work
• Be proficient in a wide range of technical systems
• To be involved in identifying appropriate technology and approaches, deciding when software should be written
• Contribute to the developer community
• Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and the adoption of good practice

What do you need?

• You will be a subject matter expert in .NET
• You will be an experienced lead supporting and mentoring junior developers
• You will have experience as a full stack developer, used to working on frontend, API/Webservice and database applications
• You will have experience in developing for the cloud, preferably Microsoft Azure
• You will be proficient at implementing software development patterns and standards such as MVC, REST, SOLID, SOA, OIDC or OAUTH.
• You will demonstrate an understanding of integration patterns such as real-time, scheduled, API, batch or messaging services
• You will be proficient at implementing and checking code quality including adoption of Test-Driven Development, peer reviews and code analysis
• You will have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile fashion

Desirable

• Familiarity with GOV.UK’s Service Standards and building services against those standards would be beneficial
