JOB TITLE: 116267 Network Security Engineer (Segmentation Specialist)
SALARY: £68,202 – £75,780 per annum
LOCATION(S): Manchester or Leeds
HOURS: Full-time – 35 hours per week
WORKING PATTERN
Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at either our Manchester or Leeds office.
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
An exciting vacancy has arisen within the Network Security and Assurance team for a Network Security Segmentation Specialist. This Network Security Segmentation specialist role is primarily focused on End User and Micro segmentation technologies.
These technologies play a key role in protecting the organisations critical business applications. Whilst there will also be opportunity to work across the broader set of technologies and processes under Network Security’s remit, the primary role is for a network segmentation expert who will continue to develop both end user and Micro segmentation technologies.
Your accountabilities will include:
Network Security Segmentation
Planning the design and implementation of sophisticated changes across multiple Network Security Segmentation technologies.
Cyber Security projects delivery
Taking ownership for delivering cyber programme and project goals.
Delivering Security improvement plans.
Developing and/or delivering elements of strategy with mentorship from senior colleagues.
Network Security/Cyber Security representation and relationship management
Acting as contact point for technical engagement on Network Security matters representing the Network Security team in discussions with other parts of the Cyber and IT community.
Representing the network security team on an on call basis to support and respond to ongoing incidents which require 24/7 network security support.
Meeting customer needs related to security products and services.
Mentorship
Providing mentorship to junior colleagues within the Network Security team.
Continuous improvement & Automation
Focusing on automation, identifying and developing automation opportunities to simplify processes and improve efficiency.
Highlighting shortcomings and suggesting improvements in processes, systems and procedures.
Uncovering emerging issues and/or needs and identifying potential causes, related issues, key collaborators and barriers.
Meeting changing requirements by developing new testing approaches and strategy for a defined range of products and/or operations.
IT Security Governance and policies
Providing input into the development of IT Security policies, develops underlying procedures and supervises their implementation within the organisation.

To be considered and thrive in this role however, you will need to demonstrate the below in your application as a minimum:
Network security and segmentation experience
Network Security experience and hands on network, security services or security principles including experience with Illumio and Forescout;
Network segmentation and the application of zero trust policies to reduce the attack footprint of the organisations critical assets and infrastructure;
Automation understanding
Demonstratable experience of automation principles and concepts;
Experience of actively working with automation pipelines to identify and develop automation opportunities in a variety of technologies;
Agile Methodology skills
Experience with agile toolsets including: Jira, Jira Align and Confluence to help to drive improvement in segmentation products to align with the Labs overall business objectives and goals;
Relationship building skills
Building and harnessing strong working relationships within the team and with the wider security community;
Ability to influence and inspire
Experience representing the cyber security/network security space with confidence and ensuring the team is setup for success, developing colleagues capability.
