We are currently supporting an organisation who are seeking a motivated and talented Security Analyst to join their expanding IT department. In this role, you will play a key role in strengthening our their cybersecurity posture by leveraging your technical expertise and security knowledge.

You will work closely with the Security Manager to:

• Identify and assess security risks across the organisation.
• Monitor and improve our security stance through various tools and procedures.
• Implement and maintain security controls to safeguard our systems and data.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents in a timely and effective manner.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of our security strategy.

What You Bring:

• 3+ years of IT experience in a security-related role.
• Solid understanding of LAN and WAN networking concepts, including firewalls, segregated networks, and hybrid Azure AD.
• Interest in and willingness to learn about new technologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Bonus Points:

• Knowledge of security tooling (SIEM, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Scanning).
• Programming/scripting skills (Microsoft PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Exposure to OT and IoT technology and manufacturing industry.
• Security certifications (CISSP, CISMP, SANS/GIAC, CISA, CompTIA Security+).

Location:

Durham or Gateshead – there will be travel involved to different sites but expenses will be reimbursed
