A great opportunity for a large northeast business is recruiting a Security Analyst to join their team in the Newcastle office. This newly created role will form an essential part of the IT Team, ensuring a secure IT environment is maintained through administration and development, as part of the global IT function.

What you will be a part of;

As part of the role, you will have the opportunity to file server security management as well as operate regular checks, and provide reports as necessary. You will support Cloud security across the business and act as the point of contact for security for all stakeholders. It is vital that you identify and report threats and vulnerabilities, keep a technical industry awareness of risks and exposures, and proactively promote effective countermeasures. Additionally, you will assist with the development and maintenance of firm-wide security infrastructures, policies, and procedures, identifying improvements when possible. You must work cooperatively with project teams and ensure new projects adhere to security policies.

Role criteria;

• Hold a minimum of 3 years experience of working within Information Security
• Good understanding of security frameworks, such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials +, and NIST.
• Working knowledge of all or some of the following – Network, server, desktop, and their security components (Azure AD, Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Office 365, Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Web Filtering, Endpoint Detection and Response, SIEM, Zero Trust Systems, MFA, SSO).
• An ability to work with third parties on support issues is a key aspect of the role and therefore you will need excellent communication skills.
• Have a proactive, well-motivated with good attention to detail.
• A knowledge of legal-specific software and document management systems is desirable but not essential. Security-related certification is also desirable.
