A Senior Cyber Security Engineer is required for a respected Financial Services organisation in London.

Known for its excellence, this company is enhancing its internal security maturity to meet evolving threats. You’ll be instrumental in maturing their security posture, understanding the current landscape, and implementing future-state strategies.

Scope of Work & Value You’ll Add:

• Strengthen security posture throughout the bank, implementing a future-state security framework.
• Proactively identify, design, and develop new security stack capabilities to reduce manual effort and increase resilience.
• Stay current with new technologies and trends, identifying and recording security risks.
• Support on-call rotation as agreed with your manager.
• Work with infrastructure teams to ensure resilient and robust infrastructure (Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualisation, and networking protocols).
• Identify process optimisation opportunities to increase efficiencies and decrease customer impact risk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies aligning with the bank’s goals, policies, and standards.
• Security Architecture & Design: Design secure network, system, and application architectures, ensuring data confidentiality and integrity.
• Incident Response & Management: Play an integral role in incident response, investigation, and coordination.
• Security Operations & Monitoring: Collaborate with the SOC to analyse and respond to security events.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance through assessments and reporting.
• Vulnerability Management: Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation (Qualys or similar vulnerability management tools).
• Incident Investigation & Forensics: Conduct forensic investigations following incidents to prevent recurrences.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure a coordinated cybersecurity approach.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of security technologies, especially Microsoft Security stack. (MS Defender, MS Sentinel, and Purview)
• Excellent knowledge of security systems and principles.
• Strong team player with effective communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Background in Windows and Linux OS, network protocols, and services.

Desirable Skills:

• Five+ years in information security, focusing on security engineering.
• Familiarity with security standards like ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SANS GIAC.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days in Central London. It offers an excellent salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
