£50,000 – £60,000 per annum, 32 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), generous pension scheme, hybrid working pattern (3-5 days on site) and other benefitsHays Technology are working in partnership with a well-known organisation in Birmingham City Centre to recruit a Senior IT Project Manager on a permanent basis. Our client is delivering key strategic improvements and significant investment across its IT infrastructure. The IT portfolio is delivering projects across all areas of Technology including cyber security, software system upgrades, implementations and upgrades to infrastructure meaning they are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the IT team to lead on organising the triaging of pipeline projects, improving processes, reporting and governance documentation. The successful candidate will be delivering key Technology projects and will also manage a small team of 2-3 Project Managers.Responsibilities include:

• Take responsibility for the definition, documentation and safe execution of medium-large scale projects, actively participating in all phases of the project.
• Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project.

• Ensure that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and tracks all activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders, as appropriate.
• Monitor costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Ensure that delivered systems are implemented within these criteria.
• Manage the change control procedure and ensures that project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off. Gain agreement for revisions to the project(s) from project sponsors.
• Provide effective leadership to the project team ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience.

Essential skills & experience required in order to apply:

• Prince 2 qualification.
• Experience of presenting and delivering messages to Executives in an effective and professional manner.
• Managed end to end IT projects broader the experience the better.
• Able to define project scope, requirements, deliverables and dependencies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be deadline driven.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills required project plans, financial management and forecasting, resource management, check point, high light reports and quality control.
• Proven experience of delivering to time, quality and cost, as well as turning around aspects of projects that may have drifted off track.
• Strong risk and dependency management (RAID).
• Experienced in leading a team and managing 2-3 project managers effectively.
• Strong process improvement experience and skills.
