What we’re looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Operations Engineer with specialized expertise in AWS (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft Security, SIEM (Security Incident and Event Management), and S OC . This critical role will be responsible for protecting our company’s information systems by developing and maintaining security protocols across various platforms.

Key Respons ibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions within AWS, Microsoft platforms (including Azure and Microsoft 365), SIEM systems (e.g., Exabeam , Splunk, Chronicle), and SOC environments.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop relationships to help promote and improve information security and provide security advice on architecture, procurements, projects, and new initiatives as required
• Collaborate with the external SOC team to monitor and analyse security alerts, providing timely responses and escalations.
• Conduct regular security assessments of AWS, Microsoft, SIEM, and SOC services to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations.
• Maintain and expand externally managed SIEM solutions within company environments to enable efficient event collection, correlation, and response.
• Create, maintain, and enforce information security policies tailored to AWS, Microsoft, SIEM, and SOC technologies.
• Develop and maintain scripts for automation, data analysis, and reporting using SQL, Python, PowerShell, or other relevant scripting languages.
• Produce reports to assure company security posture efficiency and transparent visibility for management team
• Investigation of information security incidents in accordance with the security incident management standard, produce reports with recommendations and ensure any remedial action is taken
• Mentor and guide junior security staff in AWS, Microsoft security, SIEM, and SOC best practices.
• Stay up to date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats relevant to company environments
• Ensure technical control compliance with industry regulations, such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), HIPAA, and ISO 27001, within company environments

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (master’s preferred).

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years focusing on AWS, Microsoft security, SIEM, SOC, and programming.
• A track record of successfully evolving a security-first culture in an organization with 1000+ employees
• Corporate experience of relevant security frameworks (ISO27001, GDPR & HIPAA, NIST Cybersecurity Framework)
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or relevant are preferred. (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, CEH, GCWN, GCUX, GDSA etc.)
• In-depth and proven knowledge of AWS, Microsoft security frameworks, SIEM solutions, and SOC best practices.
• Proven experience AWS and Azure cloud computing experience and experience of delivering AWS security in an Agile environment
• Proven and strong programming aptitude, including experience with AWS CLI, SQL, scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell), and automation tools.
• Ideally having experience delivering security in a DevOps / DevSecOps / Rugged DevOps on AWS and hybrid environments
• Demonstrable strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated curious character around security posture
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
