Job Description: SIEM Security Engineer – SC – SIEM, SOC

Location: Scotland – Hybrid (on-site required)

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 (depending on experience) + benefits + exceptional training

Job Role:We are looking for a SIEM Security Engineer to join our team in Scotland. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SIEM systems within a SOC (Security Operations Centre) environment.

Key Responsibilities: Utilize SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk) for monitoring and analyzing security events. Use SOC tools for intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, and endpoint protection (e.g., Microsoft Defender). Analyze and troubleshoot network and firewall issues. Stay up-to-date with the latest security protocols and compliance requirements. Streamline processes through automation. Perform overall monitoring and troubleshooting of the security platform.Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience in a SOC environment using SIEM tools. Familiarity with intrusion detection systems, vulnerability assessments, and endpoint protection systems. Strong analytical capabilities and knowledge of computer networks and firewalls. Understanding of the current cybersecurity landscape and its impact on organizations. Relevant qualifications such as Splunk certification, CompTIA Security+, or similar are beneficial.

Security Clearance: Candidates must be able to undergo security clearance.
