Job Title: Vice President of Technology

Toyota Connected Europe (TCEU) is seeking an experienced Tech Enthusiast to join the existing team to play a critical role in shaping our technology vision, strategy, and execution to support the company’s growth and success towards our next generation of innovative mobility products and services.

The VP of Technology will be critical to the department’s efforts to recast its relationship with business functions from a provider of technology to a business partner capable of innovating business practices through the delivery of technology services. Candidates for this position must be highly motivated, able to make data-driven decisions, and have strong management and interpersonal skills. This person will interact with a wide variety of diverse individuals, including business stakeholders, IT leadership teams across the global Toyota ecosystem.

There are five key aspects to this role, all of which are linked:

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and communicate a clear technology strategy aligned with the overall business objectives.
• Drive innovation and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
• Enable and maximise our Data Science practice to help us to become best in class; this will include Machine Learning (ML), Artificial intelligence (AI) etc.
• Collaborate with other executives to ensure technology initiatives support and enhance business goals.
• Provide strong leadership to the technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring the team has the skills and resources to meet business needs.
• Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and methodologies.
• Work closely with product management and engineering to align technology solutions with customer and market needs.
• Ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of technology solutions.

Technology Architecture and Infrastructure:

• Define and maintain the technology architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to drive efficiency and innovation.
• Enable and optimise the company’s technology infrastructure.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks related to technology, data security, and compliance.
• Establish and enforce cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive information.
• Stay current on industry trends and regulations to ensure the company remains compliant.

Budgeting and Resource Management:

• Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines and business objectives.

What do we want to see from your application?

• Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably as a CTO or VP of Technology.
• Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies.
• Demonstrated success in leading and scaling technology teams.
• In-depth knowledge of technology architecture, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
• Experience in enterprise demand management.
• In-depth understanding of the automobile and technology industry preferred.
