Spectrum IT’s Client are seeking to recruit a Contract IT Production Engineer to support a thriving project delivering Cyber Security and Wireless Communication solutions. This is an initial 3 month contract with the potential to go permanent after this period. The role will be IR35 exempt based on the Clients “Small Company” status and will be based at their tech office in Guildford, Surrey. Candidates for this role will have SC Clearance (or be eligible) and be happy to work onsite.

This role will focus on programming and testing printed circuit boards (PCBs) within their dedicated to Electro Static Discharge (ESD) Safe Lab and Workshop. Due to the hands on production needs of this role you will be required to work onsite 5 days per week.

The ideal candidate would have experience in programming or testing electronic systems, have keen attention to detail and the ability to work on a repetitive task to a high degree of accuracy.

Role:

• Program and test PCBs and systems using Linux and Windows driven software;
• Report any issues to supervisor for troubleshooting
• Support electronic assembly including box build and cable harnesses;
• Work in an ESD (Electronic Static Discharge) safe environment (foot straps and wrist straps provided);
• Administrative tasks to support the build, as required

Skills & Experience:

• Hold Security Clearance is essential
• HND in Electronics/Engineering or equivalent is desirable;
• Experience in programming and testing electronic systems;
• Familiarity with MS Office tools;
• Keen attention to detail;
• Methodical in working practices
• Able to work 40 hours a week on-site
• Able to commute reliably to Guildford, Surrey.

Please note the client will consider putting a candidate through SC Clearance but this will be based on their suitability to the role and amount of previous experience.
