What is ICT at Sellafield Ltd?
Our Information, Communication Technology profession is made up of more than 500 people. They are based in Information Services Organisation (our IT department), Cyber Security, Digital, Operational Technology, Asset Management and Business Analytics.
These teams work to ensure our business IT meets business needs. They are responsible for our platforms and applications. They ensure people have the right data to do their jobs. This helps us create a clean and safe environment for future generations.
Our IT network is vast and complex. We use several different systems across our facilities. Many are reaching the end of their useful life. Thanks to the work we do, our IT teams face extra challenges to make our systems fit for purpose and meet regulator expectations. In practical terms, this means much of our work is focused on ensuring legacy systems are running effectively and decommissioning redundant technology. We must do this while also ensuring we can operate in a modern, digitally connected, collaborative environment.
