Director of Security Architecture

Harrington Starr have partnered with a global financial services company with a cutting-edge technical environment and to join an established but growing security team to help them find a Security Architecture Lead/ Manager based in London. This role will involve leading/ mentoring, a small and specialist team. This role sits within the EMEA arm of the business, and will across the cyber security function globally.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

• Developing Security Architecture patterns
• Providing security architecture guidance to the business
• Develop close working relationships with technical and non-technical teams across the business
• Develop and maintain security architecture artefacts
• Developing security controls needed for new technology
• Providing security architecture input into IT infrastructure, cloud, and applications projects
• Ensuring best of practice security methods within cloud based systems
• Evaluating architectural security risks in existing systems
• Consulting with system development teams and architects on building security into their design
• Defining baseline security configuration standards for operating systems (e.g., OS hardening), network segmentation, and identity and access management (IAM).

Key Skills required:

• Experience in a lead or senior security architecture role within financial services
• Experience of contributing to or developing a multi-year strategy in a technical security domain.
• Breadth of knowledge across infrastructure, application, and network security including representation at Design Authorities
• Understanding of cloud deployments and associated security risks and controls
• Experience of providing security advice and defining architecture for serverless and containerised environment
• Security certifications such as CISSP or TOGAF
