The Role

Level: Head of

Comp: Negotiable Base + Company Performance Bonus (Lvl 2) + Share Options + Benefits

Type: Hybrid Working (Minimum once in the office per week)

Location: Waterloo, LDN

This is a hands-on, leadership role where you’ll wear many hats. You’ll lead and continue developing a high-performing and high-functioning compliance team, navigate the complexities of multiple security frameworks and certifications, and ensure our company operates with the highest ethical and legal standards. You’ll be a trusted advisor to senior management, shaping business decisions ensuring compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership: Lead a dedicated compliance team, fostering a culture of professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Frameworks: Ensure we continue to maintain necessary accreditations, including ISO 27001, IRAP, CSA Star, GDPR, EID, EIDAS, SOC2, CCPA, CCPRA, and others.
• Audit Management: Oversee internal and external audits, responding to audit findings and implementing corrective actions promptly.
• Risk Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework, identifying and mitigating potential compliance risks.
• Policy & Training: Review our compliance policies and procedures, provide guidance and training across the organisation.
• Regulatory Expertise: Stay current on evolving regulations and compliance requirements, proactively adapting our strategy as needed.
• Reporting & Communication: Provide regular reports to senior management on compliance status, identifying key concerns and opportunities.
• Collaboration: Partner with various departments like Science, Product, Tech and Sales to ensure compliance is integrated into all aspects of the business.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in a similar compliance leadership or management role
• Demonstrable track record of successfully implementing and maintaining multiple security frameworks and certifications.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and security standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.).
• In depth understanding of risk management methodologies and their application in a technology context.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage and educate diverse audiences on technical compliance matters.
• Leadership skills to build and motivate a high-performing team.
• Ability to work diligently, through prioritisation and delegation of tasks effectively, whilst meeting key deadlines.
• Analytical, problem-solving with a highly collaborative solution orientated style.
• Passion for security and privacy, with a commitment to ethical and responsible business practices.
