Head of Software Engineering Full Time

Can you help us get to the next level? TFG London is a growing retail group with 4 great brands; Phase Eight, Whistles, Hobbs and inside Story. We have big plans for growth in our current UK and international markets both with our current brands and potential new brands in the future. To support this growth we are strengthening the foundations with the creation of a new role, Head of Software Engineering. Reporting to the CTO, you will have ownership of the systems design, data architecture, systems integration user experience and software delivery lifecycle.

As Head of Software Engineering your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the software, integration and systems engineering practices and will be accountable for the delivery of key, critical projects and initiatives
• Accountable for the evolution and development of a small team of engineers that will be critical to powering the growth of the business through cutting edge systems and processes
• Design, document, and implement key integrations between core systems to ensure that data is mastered correctly and is represented in systems in an accurate and timely way
• Manage engineering projects to build new capabilities, or remediate existing ones, and personally taking ownership of managing response to weaknesses identified or incidents experienced
• Deliver the standardisation of technology operations, systems and services across the group
• Make budgetary reports and recommendations to the CTO as appropriate to existing and planned application development and software engineering initiatives

About You

To be successful as the Head of Software Engineering, you will have expert knowledge of world class engineering practices, a defined knowledge of the migration to and management of agile working and an understanding of infrastructure, design and architecture patterns for applications that run on-prem and in cloud environments.

You will be able to demonstrate the following experiences:

• Design, implementation and support of key platforms, such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Exponea, Adyen, Cybersource, AWS, OneStock, various ERP and WMS, Tableau and more.
• Extensive experience in the integration of key systems ensuring data integrity, security, efficiency and speed.
• Experience in managing remote teams in both the UK and US.
• Working with partners and consultants to deliver high quality technology services and solutions.
• Leading and project managing business, user and technology change programmes.
• Experience migrating organisations from on premise to the cloud and managing both the technology and business change.
• Experience working in the European and US retail markets designing and implementing systems that power Ecommerce and Retail.
