Robert Half are excited to be partnering with Instron, a global organization with over 75 years of experience, that designs, manufactures, sells and services materials testing applications. We are recruiting for an Infrastructure and Security Engineer to be based in High Wycombe.

The Role

We are excited to be recruiting for an Infrastructure and Security Engineer. This is one of many newly created roles in the team to support a wider IT strategy which focuses on progressive Cyber Security and Cloud technologies.

The Infrastructure and Security Engineer is responsible for the daily management and implementation of a secure, reliable network and systems infrastructure. The role provides 2nd and 3rd line infrastructure support, acting as point of escalation for the IT Service Desk. Other responsibilities include:

• Managing global infrastructure covering a global user base across UK, Europe, USA and Asia
• Configure and manage network switches, routers, firewalls, virtualised environment, windows servers
• Introduce and integrate new technology into existing data centre environments
• Be a part of the Cyber Security Incident Response Team, responding to and helping manage cyber security incidents
• Being proactive and analytical of main cyber security operations such as vulnerability management, threat hunting
• Develop best IT security practices
• Manage, monitor and maintain backups

Skills & Experience

• In depth knowledge of complex infrastructure solutions: Azure AD, Windows Server, VMWare, M365, Exchange online, Sharepoint
• Experience with application and operating system hardening, vulnerability assessments, security audits, penetration testing and other security control systems like PAM, SIEM, IDR
• Strong understanding of virtualised environments including SAN and backup technologies
• Extensive knowledge of End User Computing environments including deployment, patching and automated management
