Salary Range: £70,000 to £80,000

Hybrid Model: 50/50% in office/remote

About the Client and Role:

My client, a globally renowned bank, is seeking an Infrastructure Security Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. The security engineer will support the delivery of tight security functionality throughout the client’s vast virtual infrastructure, in an environment includes: VMWare based infrastructure, financial applications, on-prem/virtual storage and datacentres etc.

The candidate will be responsible for ransomware protection and recovery, and will be required to help ensure protection and remediation of constantly evolving threats. Excellent security experience of Automation and Virtualisation of VMWare technology, and strong ability to script will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing security engineering within a complex financial virtual infrastructure environment
• Infrastructure security based recovery, and automation improvements
• Supporting security of a large VMware estate & financial applications
• Delivering security based Automation and Virtualisation solutions
• Protecting against ransomware and maintaining recovery infrastructure
• Develop and optimize security and recovery for compute, converged, storage, backup and archive environments
• Developing Security based VMware VRA and VRO blueprints, workflows and actions
• Involvement of back-up and recovery (vRealize & VEEAM)

Essential Candidate Skills:

• Background within banking/financial environments
• Strong up-to-date knowledge of Cyber Security
• Expert level experience of VMWare including vRealize and vSphere
• Experience supporting financial/banking applications
• Strong knowledge of ransomware and related protection
• Excellent hands-on experience with Virtualisation and Automation within large financial environments
• Strong Scripting (PowerShell and JavaScript)
