IT Director

My client is looking for an IT Director to join the leadership team on a remote basis. Their dynamic teams head office is based in the heart of Leicester, and they’re committed to delivering exceptional IT services and solutions that empower the business to achieve their goals. Reporting directly into the CEO, you will play a key role in the budgeting, strategic planning, and decision making of the team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the IT strategy to support the company’s business goals and objectives.
• Lead and manage the IT department, including hiring, training, and mentoring team members.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and software applications.
• Ensure the security, availability, and performance of the IT systems and data.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and GDPR.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and address their technology needs and provide effective solutions.
• Manage the IT budget, including forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• Coordinate and manage IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard the company’s IT assets.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Proven experience as an IT Director or in a similar senior IT leadership role.
• Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure, networks, systems administration, and software development.
• Experience with GDPR, cybersecurity, and data management.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in budget management and strategic planning.
