IT Infrastructure Engineer – This is a hybrid role based out of Shrewsbury

This role involves taking ownership of our entire IT infrastructure, which includes servers, connectivity, backups and in time lead the transition to an Azure based cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessing and understanding the current IT infrastructure, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
• Developing a comprehensive plan for transitioning to Azure based cloud infrastructure, prioritizing efficiency, security, and scalability as well as ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Proactively managing and maintaining servers, networking, and backup systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implementing and overseeing robust cyber security measures, including data protection and disaster recovery plans.
• Manage our sharepoint infrastructure including migration of further files and creation and management of DLP policies. Manage the access to and security of our other cloud platforms.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to suggest and implement improvements to our IT infrastructure.
• Manage relationships with vendors and external partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and products.
• Providing technical support and training to staff, enhancing their understanding and use of IT infrastructure resources.

Skills:

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure management
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure environment and experience in migration and management of virtual servers
• Excellent understanding of networking concepts, data storage solutions, and backup strategies
• Experience in implementing and managing IT security protocols and disaster recovery plans
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
