IT Security Analyst

Our client, a leading distribution organisation based in West Drayton have an opportunity for an IT Security Analyst to join their team at their UK head office. The role covers technical elements such as implementation of new cyber security technologies and best practises, as well as assisting in the administration of their ISO27001 registered Information Security Management System. The successful candidate will also be involved in the design and delivery of future security programmes and a key member of the Global IT Security Team.

Role responsibilities:

• To work with IT Security Management and external consultants to maintain our ISMS
• To assist in the review of policies and procedures to improve the effectiveness of security controls
• Work with the IT team to respond to events that are classified as potential security incidents
• Focus on the continual improvement of our cyber security monitoring and alerting framework
• To assist in the response and recovery of systems impacted by security incidents
• Monitor the threat landscape internally and externally and report to IT Security Management
• To proactively identify and report on emerging security trends, risks, guidelines and technologies
• Identify relevant KPIs and where necessary and undertake internal compliance reviews

Skills required:

• Preferably CISSP qualified with broad & deep technical knowledge
• You will demonstrate excellent written and oral skills to communicate to business management as part of stakeholder engagement activities.
• Five years+ experience working within IT & Network Security operations
• Demonstratable applied knowledge of major security technologies and tools
• Understanding of ISO27001 ( and/or other recognised IS Frameworks)
• Experience in risk assessment, threat detection and incident handling
• Analytical thinking with the ability to solve complex problems under pressure
