IT Security and Information Assurance Lead

4 days onsite per week

Our client is looking for an accomplished professional to lead and manage their IT Security and Information Assurance operations. As IT Security & Information Assurance Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining and executing a long-term strategy, overseeing ongoing operations, and acting as the primary point of contact for key security matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead IT security & information assurance activities, including system accreditation, operational activities, and project oversight.
• Line manage a team, providing technical guidance, performance management, and staff development.
• Manage and maintain security compliance measures, including ISO 27001 standards and HMG accreditations.
• Conduct threat/vulnerability/impact analysis, influencing security policies, and fostering external relationships.
• Excellent experience in writing policy and procedure

Working Conditions:

• Security check (SC) clearance required.

Person Specification:

• Significant expert knowledge of information security and assurance practices.
• Experience in leading system accreditation activities and influencing supplier security practices.
• Good knowledge of IT and technology, with proficiency in security and network analysis tools.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Experience in line management and staff development.
• ISO27001 Audit Qualified

Desirable:

• Understanding of information assurance and relevant legislation.
• Knowledge of central government practices and standards.
• Experience with ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials in a Linux environment.
