Finance – Leveraged Finance Lawyer (5+ years PQE) – London

Brief

We are currently looking to recruit a London based mid-to-senior level lawyer to join our Finance team. The role will focus on leveraged finance, whilst also gaining exposure to corporate lending and counter-cyclical opportunities.

Background

As a finance team, we advise a broad range of funders and private equity houses/borrowers on a wide variety of financing transactions. We act for private credit funds, all the UK clearing banks, a number of other European and investment banks and other alternative capital providers on all types of facilities from acquisition finance, leveraged finance and real estate finance to asset based lending, securitisation and debt capital markets. We also act for many borrowers, from listed companies to small enterprises, on their financings.

Our leveraged finance practice is continuing to grow, creating a unique opportunity to forge a career by taking advantage of exceptional bank and debt fund relationships alongside an active, and highly-regarded, private equity team. We have access to a deep knowledge of current market practice and deliver a truly partner-led service.

• advising ThinCats on financing to support Aliter Capital’s acquisition of UK-based digital specialist Jumar
• advising sponsor EMK Capital and its portfolio company, OneBright Group, on the acquisition of Psicon, specialists in psychology and health services
• advising Tresmares Capital on a refinancing for a sponsor-backed business
• advising banks on the provision of a super-senior revolving credit facilities to PE-backed businesses
• advising Sovereign Capital Partners on debt financing to support the management buy-out of digital transformation and cyber security consultancy Actica Consulting

The candidate required

• leveraged finance experience advising both lenders and sponsors
• technically strong but, equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business and practice development
• a team player with a strong client-focussed approach, commitment to the product area and excellent communication and organisational skills
