The Company:
ER Recruitment are working exclusively with our client, a successful organisation based Leicester. They are now looking for a motivated and professional Network Engineer to join and support their team who have an outstanding reputation.

Role & Responsibilities of the Network Engineer:

• Manage and maintain the Support Desk, telephony system support, provisioning of orders, delivery of on-site equipment, installation, configuration and service solutions. Duties also include fault diagnosis, raising issues with 3rd party providers and maintenance tasks.
• Act as the 1st line customer support for all IT/comms engineering related issues received either directly to you or as allocated by the business.
• Create and maintain support tickets. Ensure with the customer via the Support Desk, email or telephone call that the support ticket is resolved to their satisfaction before closing the ticket
• Deploy, manage and maintain hardware, software and network solutions within area of expertise.
• Undertake 2nd and 3rd line support for incidents and service requests. Respond to escalated contacts from clients in accordance with Company SLAs. Support tasks may include site visits, telephone calls and/or written communications
• Carry out advanced diagnosis on escalated logged issues/incidents received by Technical Support and take appropriate steps to resolve the fault and restore services.
• Collaborate with other technical staff, external support Engineers from third party maintenance companies and through individual research in analysing problems and suggesting solution as appropriate, acting as an assistant technical analyst when required.
• Design and implement preventative maintenance and systems monitoring. Implementing new initiatives and future changes in service delivery, specifically related to corporate priority projects.
• Ensure the successful handover of completed work to clients with appropriate documentation and communication of faults and systems resolution with diagnostic results.
• Make recommendations and identify additional support needs and costs and communicate these appropriately to ensure cost effectiveness of the IT Service.
• Maintain efficient records of work, systems documentation and charges to users, including the document and updating of procedures and processes with the Technical Support Team.
• Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information assets and systems and, where appropriate, ensure preventative measures are undertaken to help mitigate the risk of a security incident occurring including reporting any security breaches or exceptions.
• Proactively build and develop a positive reputation for the IT/ Comms Service by acting as an ambassador when dealing with colleagues, clients and external partners and ensuring a positive client focused approach at all times.
• Proactively implement and embed IT service management good practice in all areas of work and to ensure that positive contributions to all parts of IT service management are made at all times.
• Liaise with customers in a polite manner that reflects the businesses values.

• Participate in an out of hours on call rota, usually one week in every three and in accordance with the Company s Out Of Hours (OOH) policies

About You as the Network Engineer:

• A full, clean UK driving licence and own vehicle is essential.
• Have at least 3 years experience in providing IT support services to multiple business clients, within a similar environment.
• First-hand experience of the following:

o Microsoft 365 and/or Office 365 migration and management
o Microsoft Azure
o Microsoft Windows Server
o Active Directory and Group Policy configuration
o Support of PC and mobile devices
o Deployment of managed Anti-Virus and Backup solutions
o Network and firewall infrastructure management, support, and deployment
o Familiarity with Cyber security & GDPR awareness

• Have excellent customer facing skills and the ability to communicate technical issues in a non-technical way.
• Be a quick learner and problem solver.
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written
• Have an excellent telephone manner.
• Be able to work as a part of the team as well as on your own.
• Be methodical, process driven and patient.
