SACM Lead – Contract – Outside IR35

My client a Leading FMCG business are looking for a Contract Service Asset Configuration Management Consultant to join them. This is largely remote but may require up to 10% international travel.

The SACM Lead will be accountable for the design, implementation, and management of the configuration management process and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in ServiceNow, ensuring alignment with the ITIL framework and the IT strategy, architecture, and standards.

Will ensure that the CMDB is properly designed and contains accurate and up-to-date information about the IT assets and their relationships, and that it supports the IT service management processes, such as incident, problem, change, and demand management.

Collaborate with other IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure that the configuration management process and the CMDB are integrated with other IT processes and systems, and that they support the business needs and expectations.

Take Accountability for any project related to the enhancement and evolution of the configuration management process and the CMDB.

Key Responsibilities and Activities of the SACM Lead

• Design, implement, and govern the CMDB and the configuration management process, ensuring that they properly integrate and support the other processes.
• Define KPI and indicators to measure the quality of the data recorded in the CMDB and define improvement plans.
• Define and implement the CMDB roadmap, ensuring alignment with the other departments and the ITIL framework.
• Manage the CMDB integrations with other IT systems and tools.
• Establish and maintain configuration management policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring that they are followed and enforced across the organization.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the configuration management technologies and services and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Key Relationships

Internal: Global IT Service Management team, Global IT Infrastructure and Operations team, Cyber Security Team, Enterprise Architecture team, Global Service Delivery team, Governance and Portfolio team, Business stakeholders.

External: Configuration management tool provider and vendor, IT consultants and partners.

Experience & Education

• 3-5 years of experience working with Service Asset & Configuration Management and CMDB, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Deep knowledge in ServiceNow.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Computer Management Information Systems preferred or equivalent experience.
• ITIL V3 or V4 foundation certification required. Higher certifications desirable.
• Knowledge of LeanIX or other Enterprise Architecture Management applications is desirable.
• ServiceNow certifications such as CIS, CSA or CAD are desirable.
• Fluent in English (company language is English), level B2 or above.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, manage changes and uncertainty, adapt and learn quickly.
• Result-oriented and customer-focused person, with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects,
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate complex concepts and issues to technical and non-technical audiences, build and maintain effective and credible working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Availability to travel up to 10% of the time.
