Methods is working with one of our government clients to search for a SC cleared Senior SOC engineer.
Daily rate: £550 outside IR35
Must have: Live SC Clearance
Duration: 12 months
Location: 3days/week onsite in Milton Keynes
Responsibilities:
To work alongside an existing team of Cyber Engineers and Cyber Analysts within an established Security Operations Centre. Duties briefly consist of:
Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the protective controls and tools used within the Cyber SOC and investigate, resolve, or escalate issues identified within the local and wider teams including liaison with vendors.
Aid the Security Analysts in various Security incident investigations as and when required.
Understand and interpret various system logs and reports to help improve system logging, alerting and utilisation of the various Cyber Tools.
Develop installation guides, administration and change procedures as well as cyber collection and detection rules in association with other Cyber Engineers and Analysts to improve the effectiveness of the Cyber Systems in use.
Provide Engineering support to various new business areas to aid the integration of new systems into the SOC tooling, ensuring effective monitoring alerting and prevention rules are created and amended as required.
Maintain the integrity of data used and stored within the toolset.
Requirements:
Good Analytical skills with the ability to manipulate, interrogate and analyse large data sets.
Experience of working with SIEM and IPS preferable
